We are safely able to support new residents. For more information, please speak with the Home Manager or fill out an enquiry form.
Fairlawn care home is based in the heart of Ferndown, making it a hub for the community and providing residents and relatives with cafes, shops, restaurants and facilities within walking distance.
The care home has large, bright lounges for residents to socialise with friends and relatives, while quiet rooms overlooking the landscaped garden provide peace and relaxation when you want to watch the world go by with a cup of tea and a good book.
Fairlawn has 60 en-suite bedrooms, spread over three floors to ensure personalised care and support. Facilities include an on-site hair salon, whilst assistance is provided for GP, dentist, optician and chiropodist appointments.
We know looking for a care home can be a difficult process, but you are not alone. Please fill out an enquiry form or give us a call and we would be happy to guide you through the process, answer any question and talk you through life at Fairlawn.
We have adapted our admissions process to meet the challenges of COVID-19 and help new and existing residents stay safe. You can find out more about these changes in our Assisi Admissions Plan by clicking here.
We put our residents at the heart of everything we do, and know that no two are the same. That is why we get to know residents and their life stories, hobbies and interests, helping us to create events around their likes.
Our activities team organises daily events and outings designed to bring everyone together in a fun and friendly atmosphere. We welcome regular visits from the AFC Bournemouth’s Community Sports Trust, take trips down memory lane with tailored reminiscence activities, and tailor outings around residents’ interests and life stories, such as the veteran from the Royal Tank Corps who had always wanted to go to The Tank Museum.
The Daily Sparkle
We are also supported by The Daily Sparkle, a newspaper and app featuring news stories from the past and familiar activities. Using these resources has opened up conversations for our less sociable residents. Click here to find out more.

“Getting to know the residents and building up a relationship around food feels fantastic.” – Steve Edwards, Fairlawn chef
Meals are more than just the food on the plate, they bring people together. At Fairlawn, residents meet for meal times in our relaxed and comfortable dining rooms, with wholesome, well-balanced meals.
We talk to residents to help create flexible menus around their likes and needs, also working within any special dietary requirements. Snacks and afternoon teas are also available to residents.
Veronika Blake – Home Manager
Fairlawn is a great place to be, with a homely feel, amazing staff and lovely residents. I believe the key to creating a great care home is being open and communicating with everyone to help build strong, collaborative relationships – be that with residents, relatives, or external health care organisations.
I have many years of management experience supporting teams both in the private and public health care sectors. I have previously worked with people living with learning disabilities in support living at the Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust, as well as residents in a nearby nursing home.
Although we can’t welcome you for a look around our care homes just yet, you can still view inside thanks to our remote tours.
To ensure our care homes remain free from COVID-19, our helpful Home Managers can guide you around during a video call, so you get a feel of what life is like with Care South.
Simply fill out the form below and we will be in touch to discuss how we can create a new home for you or a loved one with peace of mind.
