Kenwith Castle is not just a home for your later years, it’s a place to enjoy life in a supported and social way. Whether you would like to take a walk around the grounds and sit by the lake on a sunny day, welcome special guests for performances in the lounge, or make the most of the stunning nearby landmarks, our activities team create varied and engaging daily activity programmes centred around the interests of residents.

We put our residents at the heart of everything we do, and know that no two are the same. That is why we get to know residents and their life stories, hobbies and interests, helping us to create events around their likes.

The Daily Sparkle

We are also supported by The Daily Sparkle, a newspaper and app featuring news stories from the past and familiar activities. Using these resources has opened up conversations for our less sociable residents, who reveal the smaller details of their lives, allowing carers to get to know residents on a close, personal level. “I love cooking for our residents – just the smiles on their faces alone makes my job worthwhile.” – Bela Racz, Kenwith Castle Chef

Meals are more than just the food on the plate, they bring people together. At Kenwith Castle, residents meet for meal times in our relaxed and comfortable dining rooms, with wholesome, well-balanced meals.

We talk to residents to help create flexible menus around their likes and needs, also working within any special dietary requirements. Snacks and afternoon teas are also available to residents.

Kenwith Castle Home Manager Rae Vanstone

I love working at Kenwith Castle; the views over the lake and countryside are breathtaking, and the ever changing seasons inspire and delight our residents.  I believe that our role is to care and support our residents to live life to the fullest, in surroundings that that are beautiful.

I’ve been the manager at Kenwith Castle for over 15 years, starting a career in nursing more than 40 years ago. I’ve done a few other jobs in between too, including being a Special Constable and working for the Ministry of Defence.
