Our activities team organises daily event and outings designed to bring everyone together in a fun and friendly atmosphere. Thanks to Queensmead’s location, staff are able to organise frequent outings to attractions in Hampshire, Dorset and the New Forest.

Being a social care home, there are also group activities within the home, ranging from, visits and active games with AFC Bournemouth and taking a trip down memory lane with tailored reminiscence activities, to pamper days and coffee mornings.

The Daily Sparkle

We are also supported by The Daily Sparkle, a newspaper and app featuring news stories from the past and familiar activities. Using these resources has opened up conversations for our less sociable residents. Click here to find out more.

Queensmead dining

“I love working at Queensmead, but particularly on residents’ birthdays. The chef takes out the handmade cake and all the staff gather round and sing happy birthday. I love seeing their eyes light up and the huge smile on their face.” – Becky Hawkins, Queensmead Chef

Meals are more than just the food on the plate, they bring people together. At Queensmead, residents meet for meal times in our relaxed and comfortable dining rooms, with wholesome, well-balanced meals.

We talk to residents to help create flexible menus around their likes and needs, also working within any special dietary requirements. Snacks and afternoon teas are also available to residents.

My initial impression when I first came to Queensmead care home was just how friendly and caring everyone was, and I’m delighted to now be able to give that same warm welcome to our residents every day.

We take real pride in providing excellent care in a homely setting. I was attracted by Care South’s HEART values, and I’m proud to see them being brought to life every day at Queensmead.
