Strome Park has been designed for individuals who are able to look after themselves and wish to live independently in their own home, but who may at some stage need a little extra care and support in some aspects of their lives.

Strome Park is a small, exclusive development of 11 stylish, secure and well-equipped apartments, offering assisted living in Sussex. Adjacent to Sussexdown Country House care home and situated in the West Sussex village of Storrington, residents are perfectly located to benefit from the local shops and services on the High Street, which is just a ten-minute walk away. We are also blessed with many amazing natural beauty spots on our doorstep, as Storrington is known as a ‘gateway to the South Downs National Park’ and we are surrounded by swathes of stunning countryside.

Strome Park offers a wonderfully social atmosphere, in a reassuringly secure community, as well as a licensed bar, bistro and an exercise and activities room. All properties are also linked to a 24/7 monitored call system and have energy efficient central heating systems, fully equipped kitchens and many supportive design features. Residents can also enjoy events and facilities at Sussexdown Country House, including the beautifully landscaped grounds, which provide the perfect place to relax with a cup of tea and a slice of cake.

Arranging a Little Extra Help…

A care package can be arranged in association with nearby Sussexdown Country House care home, in order to provide extra support to those living independently. Additionally, a stay at Sussexdown is always an option if care needs change, either on a temporary basis, such that following recovery the individual can return to assisted living, or on a more permanent basis.

An additional care support package can be provided for:

  • Individuals living independently, seeking peace of mind and reassurance that help is always available;
  • Individuals with existing care and support needs, including help with mobility, personal care, companionship and living well with dementia; and
  • Individuals seeking reassurance that, should their care and support needs change significantly and become more complex, our neighbouring care home is available and can offer guidance and support with their transition.

Care South does not currently have any properties available for purchase, but, from time to time, homes do become available on the resale market. Please contact local estate agents covering Storrington or search online for Strome Park properties currently being sold.

Alternatively, our nearby Sussexdown Country House care home offers residential care…

For those in need of extra support, Sussexdown Country House has a number of charmingly furnished communal areas, including our elegant lounges and dining rooms, as well as our beautifully landscaped grounds, which provide the perfect place to relax with a cup of tea and a slice of cake, or socialise with friends and loved ones. Residents also have full use of our well-stocked Dame Vera Lynn Library, which they are welcome to peruse and enjoy, and are able to attend church services in our enchanting Chapel or even grab a drink with friends in our very own on-site bar.

Sussexdown was previously a Royal Air Force Association (RAFA) home and today we are proud to maintain our historic links with the veteran community. We were even lucky enough to be visited by the late Dame Vera Lynn on numerous occasions, who would enjoy socialising with residents in our beautiful home.

Sussexdown has 77 welcoming and comfortable, fully furnished rooms, each a 24-hour nurse call bell, ensuring residents are comfortable, safe and expertly cared for. We give all our residents support and peace of mind, whether they need just a little assistance, or full-time care and we pride ourselves on doing everything possible to enhance our residents’ quality of life.

We also provide specialist dementia support in our Princess Alexandra wing, containing just 20 rooms, each with en-suite facilities. The Princess Alexandra wing has been specifically designed to create a relaxing and calming environment to enable our carers to deliver appropriate and compassionate care in a safe and secure place.

Situated in the West Sussex village of Storrington, we are perfectly located to benefit from the local shops and services on the High Street, which is just a ten-minute walk away. We are also blessed with many amazing natural beauty spots on our doorstep, as Storrington is known as a ‘gateway to the South Downs National Park’ and we are surrounded by swathes of stunning countryside. This enables residents to continue to do what they love, whether that’s popping out for a coffee with friends, assisted by a member of our excellent care team, or enjoying activities with visiting loved ones. Nothing is ever too much trouble for us when it comes to the care and comfort of our residents and we always go the extra mile to help residents safely maintain their lifestyle and independence.
