Love Is in the Air at Wickmeads
Valentine’s Day at Wickmeads was filled with warmth, kindness and heartfelt moments as residents came together to celebrate this special time of year.
A Thoughtful Surprise from Stourfield Junior School
The day began with a beautiful surprise. Special Valentine’s bunting had been lovingly created by pupils from Stourfield Junior School, organised by Headteacher Emma. Each colourful heart was decorated with care, but what made them truly special were the messages written on the back.
Residents were deeply touched to read words such as “You have a heart of gold”, “Thank you for being you” and “You make the world a better place”, alongside many other unique and thoughtful messages from the children.
The bunting was proudly displayed in the lounge for everyone to admire. Pat had the biggest smile and said, “It is wonderful that the children have done this for us, we are so lucky and the messages have brought a tear to my eye.”
Sadie shared how the day brought back memories of young love and meeting her husband, showing just how powerful simple gestures can be.
Roses, Chocolates and a Sing Along
The celebrations continued as each of the ladies were presented with a single red rose, while the gentlemen received a box of chocolates. These small but meaningful gifts added to the joy and sense of occasion.
Jo, our Activities Assistant, then hosted a Valentine’s Day sing along, filling the lounge with familiar love songs and plenty of smiling faces. Music brought everyone together, with residents happily joining in and enjoying the shared experience.
Our talented Chef also prepared a lovely dinner for all to enjoy, making sure the day was complete with delicious food as well as heartfelt moments.
Food, Fun and Friendship
Valentine’s Day at Wickmeads was a true celebration of food, fun and friendship. It was not just about romance, but about appreciation, kindness and connection within our community.
Moments like these remind us how special it is to come together, share memories and create new ones.
