Buxton House was filled with festive joy this week as residents, families, friends and team members came together for our much-loved annual Christmas Light switch-on. It was a truly heartwarming evening that captured the spirit of Christmas and created beautiful memories for everyone who joined us.

The home’s gardens were transformed into a winter wonderland as twinkling lights, glowing decorations and cosy gathering spaces set the scene for a special night. Residents wrapped up warm and were joined by loved ones as we counted down to the big moment when the Christmas lights illuminated the grounds.

We were delighted to welcome members of the Salvation Army, who led us in traditional Christmas carols. Their music filled the evening with warmth and nostalgia, and residents happily joined in, singing favourites old and new. Adding to the magic were the adorable donkeys dressed in festive Christmas rugs, who brought plenty of smiles and made the evening even more special for everyone who attended.

No festive celebration would be complete without delicious treats, and the Buxton House team certainly delivered. Guests enjoyed hot chocolate topped with cream, turkey rolls filled with cranberries and stuffing, and warm mince pies, creating a perfect blend of comfort and Christmas cheer.

The evening was filled with laughter, conversation and moments of connection between residents and their families. Events like this mean so much to our Buxton House community, offering a chance to celebrate together, share memories and feel the joy of the season.

As the lights continued to sparkle long after the switch-on, it was clear that the event had brought a wonderful sense of togetherness to the home. We look forward to many more festive celebrations throughout December and to creating even more special memories with our residents.
