Maiden Castle House vs. Elizabeth House. The Challenge is ON!
Maiden Castle House residents enjoyed the company of residents from Elizabeth House and they had a wonderful day together playing team games. Upon their arrival, residents and staff enjoyed a warm welcome with coffee and biscuits. In honour of Comic Relief, participants embraced the event by donning red noses and vibrant red wigs. The day featured the first leg of the AFCB Community Sports Trust competition, where the two homes competed with each other.
David Pudney from AFCB led an engaging session of seated football skills that brought smiles to everyone. Even those who chose to watch from the side-lines shared in the fun. Around 15 residents actively participated in games, including challenges like aiming to hit the highest number with a bean bag, knocking down skittles with a ball kick, and a more intricate task requiring precise control to land a ball on a foam circle.
The atmosphere was filled with joy and encouragement as residents and staff laughed, cheered, and supported one another. The fun-filled day concluded with a delicious lunch of soup, followed by classic fish and chips.
This event not only provided residents with a chance to stay active and engage in friendly competition but also offered an opportunity to visit another home in the group and build new friendships.
