Maiden Castle House Enjoys a Wonderful Summer Fayre Despite the Heatwave
Residents, families, friends and members of the local community came together at Maiden Castle House recently for a fantastic Summer Fayre, proving that even the soaring temperatures of the UK heatwave couldn’t dampen the celebrations.
The home was transformed with a beautiful strawberries and cream theme, creating the perfect setting for an afternoon filled with music, delicious food and community spirit. Throughout the event, there was something for everyone to enjoy, with residents and visitors making the most of the sunshine while spending quality time together.
One of the highlights of the day was the visit from a beautiful Shetland pony, who quickly became a favourite with residents and guests alike. Many enjoyed spending time stroking and cuddling the gentle pony, creating heartwarming moments and plenty of smiles.
Live entertainment was provided by Martin Rushforth, whose performance featured an impressive selection of songs spanning from the 1940s through to the present day. Residents sang along to familiar favourites, danced where they could and reminisced about the music that had soundtracked different stages of their lives.
No summer fayre would be complete without delicious refreshments, and there was certainly plenty on offer. Guests enjoyed traditional strawberries and cream, refreshing glasses of Pimm’s, and a mouth-watering barbecue prepared by Ash. An ice cream van proved especially popular throughout the warm afternoon, helping everyone stay cool while enjoying the festivities.
Visitors also explored a fantastic selection of local craft stalls, took fun photographs in the photo booth, entered the bottle tombola and raffle, and enjoyed browsing the many attractions on offer. The event created a vibrant atmosphere, bringing together residents, relatives, colleagues and members of the local community for a memorable day.
Ashley Smith, Home Manager at Maiden Castle House said:
