Maiden Castle House Residents Enjoy Dementia-Friendly Screening of Mamma Mia!
Residents at Maiden Castle House enjoyed a wonderful day out at their local cinema recently, where they attended a special dementia-friendly screening of the much-loved musical film, Mamma Mia!.
The outing provided residents with the opportunity to enjoy a relaxed and accessible cinema experience designed specifically for people living with dementia and their loved ones. These special screenings, held every few months, offer a welcoming environment where guests can enjoy classic films and musicals in a supportive setting.
As the opening songs began, it quickly became clear that Mamma Mia! was going to be a hit. Residents sang along to their favourite ABBA classics, clapped to the music and shared plenty of laughter throughout the screening.
The cinema was filled with smiles as familiar songs sparked memories and encouraged residents to join in, creating a joyful atmosphere from start to finish. For many, the film brought back fond memories of music, dancing and times spent with family and friends.
