Residents at Maiden Castle House in Dorchester enjoyed a heart warming morning of reflection, conversation and reminiscence as they came together to celebrate National Happiness Day.

The special session encouraged residents to share the people, places, memories and moments that bring them joy, creating an uplifting atmosphere filled with smiles, laughter and meaningful conversation.

Gathered together in one of the home’s welcoming communal spaces, residents took time to reflect on happy memories from throughout their lives. Stories of family holidays, childhood adventures, treasured friendships, favourite hobbies and special achievements sparked lively discussions and helped residents connect through shared experiences.

As memories were shared, it quickly became clear that happiness often comes from life’s simple pleasures. Many residents spoke about spending time with loved ones, enjoying the outdoors, listening to music, caring for pets and creating lasting memories with family and friends.

The morning also provided a valuable opportunity for residents to learn more about one another, with conversations often leading to unexpected connections and shared experiences. The room was filled with laughter as stories were exchanged and fond memories revisited.
