Monkey Mischief and Smiles All Around – A Day Out to Monkey World for Fern Brook Lodge
There was plenty of monkeying around this week as residents from Fern Brook Lodge enjoyed a wonderful day out to the much-loved Monkey World Ape Rescue Centre.
With bright weather and excited chatter aboard the minibus, the trip was off to a great start. Residents brought along donations of sheets and blankets to support the centre’s ongoing care of rescued primates – a thoughtful gesture that was gratefully received by the team at Monkey World.
A Walk on the Wild Side
Once inside the park, our residents had a fantastic time walking around and watching the monkeys, who put on quite the show with their playful antics and larger-than-life personalities. There were plenty of laughs as we spotted swinging gibbons, cheeky chimps, and some rather laid-back lemurs soaking up the sunshine.
A Meal Among the Trees
After exploring the park, the group headed to the Treetop Café, where everyone enjoyed a tasty meal and a chance to chat and relax before heading home.
“We’ve had such an enjoyable day,” said residents Shirley and David. “We’re already looking forward to the next outing!”

Days Like This Matter
Outings like these are more than just a day trip – they offer residents the chance to connect with nature, reminisce, laugh, and make new memories with friends. It’s part of what makes life at Fern Brook Lodge full of Food, Fun and Friendship.
A big thank you to the team at Monkey World for the warm welcome – we can’t wait to return again soon!
