Music, Memories and Cream Tea at Talbot View Open Day
On Thursday 20 June, Talbot View was filled with music, laughter and movement as residents, families and visitors gathered for a very special Open Day – made extra memorable by a live performance from one of our most beloved musical acts, Jewel Harmonies.
The talented vintage duo brought energy, elegance and endless entertainment to the afternoon, with residents clapping, singing, and dancing along to well-loved tunes. Their nostalgic set was the perfect backdrop to a day focused on community and celebration.
A Dazzling Afternoon of Music and Memories
It wasn’t just the music that caught everyone’s attention – the handmade vintage-style dresses worn by the singers were a talking point all afternoon. Residents were fascinated by the detail and craftsmanship, sharing memories of dresses from years gone by and the fashions of their youth.
“I couldn’t take my eyes off those dresses,” one resident remarked. “They reminded me of outfits we used to wear for dances in the ‘50s.”
As the duo performed, residents took to the floor, dancing with friends, loved ones and staff members. Even those who preferred to remain seated found themselves tapping their feet and swaying along to the rhythm.
A Sweet Ending to a Perfect Day
After all the excitement, guests and residents were treated to a delicious Cream Tea, complete with freshly baked scones, jam, clotted cream and pots of tea. The dining area was filled with warm conversation and the sounds of happy reflection.
Days later, the joy from the Open Day still lingers, with residents smiling and reminiscing about the music, the dancing, and the sheer fun of it all.

At Talbot View, we believe in the power of Food, Fun and Friendship, and this event was a beautiful example of the connection and joy we strive to bring to each and every day.
