New Year’s Day at Elizabeth House
Welcoming the year with reflection, celebration and joy
New Year’s Day was a wonderfully busy and uplifting occasion for residents at Elizabeth House, filled with calm moments, shared wishes and plenty of celebration as everyone came together to welcome the year ahead.
A peaceful start in the Namaste lounge
The day began in a relaxed and gentle way in the Namaste lounge, offering residents a calm space to reflect and enjoy a peaceful start to the New Year. One of the highlights of the morning was the Wish Tree, where residents were invited to share their hopes for the year ahead.
Maria wrote that for 2026 she wished all the best for her family, while Peter shared that he hoped for good health and plenty of fun in the year to come. These heartfelt wishes captured the spirit of togetherness and optimism that filled the home.
Counting down together
Later in the morning, residents gathered in the dining room for a New Year countdown, complete with a joyful balloon drop. The room was filled with laughter, excitement and shared celebration as everyone marked the moment together, creating memories that will last well beyond the day itself.
A dance party to remember
After lunch, the celebrations continued with a lively dance party that brought energy and smiles to the home. Residents enjoyed dressing up in different outfits and dancing along to a wide range of music styles, from 1960s classics and ABBA, to belly dance, salsa and even Bollywood rhythms.
The variety of music kept the dance floor busy, with Ruby especially enjoying every moment and rarely leaving the floor as the afternoon unfolded.
Starting the year the Elizabeth House way
New Year’s Day at Elizabeth House was a beautiful balance of calm reflection and joyful celebration. It was a day that brought residents together, encouraged connection and set a positive tone for the months ahead.
From everyone at Elizabeth House and Care South, we look forward to creating many more special moments together throughout the year.
