A taste of Scotland as Fern Brook Lodge marks Burns Night

Published: 25th January 2021

A little piece of Scotland came to Fern Brook Lodge care home in Gillingham as residents marked Burns Nights.

They sampled a lunch of haggis, neeps and tatties, accompanied with bagpipe music plus the songs of Kenneth McKellar and Jimmy Shand.

Burns Night is held annually on 25th January and is often celebrated globally. It marks the birthday of Scottish poet Robert Burns (25 January 1759) and his contribution to Scottish culture – most notably Auld Lang Syne.
