Alexandra House hosts its first Summer Fayre, raising over £1,200
Alexandra House was delighted to welcome residents, families and the local community to its first ever Summer Fayre this weekend. The weather wasn’t particularly kind, so the home had to host it indoors, but that didn’t dampen the fun and laughter with everyone enjoying an afternoon of activities, yummy food and fundraising, with a fantastic £1,200 raised on the day.
The home was also delighted to welcome the Deputy Mayor of Poole, Cllr Bryan Dion to the Fayre who took part in the games and festivities, as well as spent time meeting with residents and their families.
One of the resident’s family members was kind enough to host a giant scrabble competition throughout the afternoon, with prizes for the highest scoring word on the board. The prize of a cup and bottle of Champagne was shared by chef Mark and one of the home’s residents, Pauline, who were both delighted with their trophy and prizes.
All in all, the afternoon was a fantastic success with a significant amount of money going toward the Residents’ Amenity Fund. Alexandra House would like to say a special thank you to all the team and all the local businesses who supported the event and donated prizes, especially Asda in Poole who sent a volunteer to help support the event on the day.
