Asda Bournemouth donates £300 to Alexandra House
Alexendra House raised a total of £1,500 as a result of its summer fair after supermarket Asda donated £300.
Nicky Pelling, Community Champion at the Bournemouth store, presented the cheque to Home Manager Emma Cotton, along with Activities Lead Paula McCarthy and some of the residents.
It comes after Alexandra House raised more than £1,000 at their summer fair last month.
Community Champion Nicky then nominated Alexandra House to receive the extra money, which will go towards the Residents’ Amenities Fund. This is used for entertainment and to give residents extra special birthdays and Christmases.
Activities Lead Paula said: “We had a great summer fate. I would like to give a special thank you to the staff, resident’s families, and Nicky from Asda, for all their help.
“Nicky very kindly offered her time, as well as bringing prizes for our raffle. She also entered us into their community fund, from which we received £300.
“That money will help go pay for entertainment at Alexandra House for the residents to enjoy, as well as giving our residents the opportunity to take great trips out.”
