There was an Asian theme to activities at two of Care South’s Dorset care homes as they took inspiration from Chinese and Japanese culture.
At Fern Brook Lodge in Gillingham, residents tried their hands at origami. Activities Assistant Becky gave a demonstration, folding coloured paper into various creatures before residents then had a go at creating their own characters.
Meanwhile residents at Buxton House made preparations to hold a Chinese Day at the Weymouth care home. Residents enjoyed making a Chinese dragons, fans, lanterns, hats and flags. They were then introduced to a selection of Chinese dishes prepared by Chef Nick. There was even a donation of fortune cookies from local Chinese takeaway,+ Ming Wah.
The day provided a great chance for residents to experience new cultures and try some tasty dishes that will no doubt be reappearing on the Buxton House menu.
