Care at Home teams remember colleague with pink fundraiser

Published: 13th August 2020

Colleagues across Care South’s Care at Home service came together to remember and fundraise in memory of a carer who lost her battle with cancer earlier this year.

To mark what would have been Lyn Littlewood’s 53rd birthday, the staff at the Care at Home offices in Crewkerne, Bath and Bournemouth held a coffee morning and wore something pink, a symbol in the campaign to raise awareness of breast cancer.

Lyn, who had worked with Care South for around 20 years, was diagnosed with Breast Cancer in 2018 and was in remission until it returned in early 2020. Sadly, Lyn passed away on 8th June.

A spokesperson said: “Lyn began her career at Care South in Crewkerne as a Home Care Assistant in, 2000, progressing to become a member of the Re-ablement and Specialist Team. She was much loved by all at Care South and the service users she would visit.

“Lyn was courageous and fearless in her fight against breast cancer.”

Through the special day, colleagues managed to raise £270 for the Yeovil Hospital Breast Cancer Appeal charity.
