Care South raises money with Macmillan coffee mornings
Staff, residents and guests raised vital funds for Macmillan Cancer Support as part of the charity’s ‘World’s Biggest Coffee Morning’.
Volunteers and staff baked cakes to sell in the homes, with proceeds going towards supporting people affected by cancer.
On Friday 27 September, Queensmead care home in Christchurch raised more than £60 through their coffee morning, which saw volunteer Cathy providing entertainment on the piano.
St Martins Grange care home in Gillingham raised a similar amount. There, residents coloured in pictures of teapots, cups, saucers, sugar bowls and milk jugs in the ‘run up’ to the event which was turned into bunting.
Beauchamp House care home also held a coffee morning, where they raised £104.
The fundraising total by Care South homes is not yet known.
