Children cheer up residents with cards and paintings
Residents at two care home have been cheered up thanks to handmade cards and paintings from local children.
Fern Brook Lodge in Gillingham received cards from Little Gems Nursery and St Mary’s Primary School. Everyone at the residential and dementia care home loved reading the thoughtful messages, including 100-year-old Sheila (pictured above).
Meanwhile, Dorset House care home in Hamworthy, Poole, received paintings from the children at nearby Muddy Boots Nursery, including three-year-old Leo and his one-year-old sister Emme. The children wanted to do something to bring a smile to the residents’ faces after visiting the care home prior to the lockdown.
