Early signs of spring at St Martins Grange
Despite the cold and wet weather, there’s some early signs of spring at St Martins Grange care home in Gillingham.
Pearl, one of the residents, was delighted to see the bulbs she planted in September pushing through the soil.
A keen gardener, Pearl weeded the raised bed in the courtyard garden during September and planted a variety of daffodil and tulip bulbs to give a splash of colour.
Thanks to a mild early winter, the bulbs are growing quickly and the residents can’t wait to see the blooming flower bed in the spring. Pearl also plans to plant some violas to compliment the daffodils and tulips.
