Elizabeth House battles the weather to raise £700 at summer fayre
Despite battling strong winds, staff, residents, friends and family ensured that Elizabeth House’s summer fayre went ahead, whatever the weather.
Guests who attended the annual summer fayre had a wonderful time and kept shelter in the covered areas of the garden and the home’s dining room.
Lady Mayor, Marion Le Poidevin, officially cut the ribbon, which was chosen by the home’s residents to mark the opening of this year’s summer fayre.
Tombola stalls, games, raffles and local entertainers, Aphrodite and Steve Linney, kept everyone in good spirits throughout the day.
Julie Moody, Activities Lead at Elizabeth House, said: “We were determined to enjoy our summer fayre despite the weather, and I’m pleased to say everyone had a wonderful time. It’s brilliant that we raised £700 for our amenities fund, so thank you to everyone who came along and made it such a great day.”
The event was a great success and the £700 raised will be used for the Residents’ Amenities Fund, which helps pay for days out, as well as gifts and treats for residents.
