Fremington Manor finds way to hold fundraiser

Published: 27th September 2020

For many charities, 2020 has been a difficult year as fundraising events have been postponed or cancelled. However, staff and residents still found a way to raise vital funds for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Each year, the residential care and nursing home in Barnstaple holds a Macmillan Coffee Morning to support the charity, welcoming in the local community for a slice of cake, a cup of tea and a chat. Although they couldn’t open their doors this year due to COVID-19 restrictions, staff and residents still put on the event, raising nearly £100.

The home asked for a small donation and offered takeaway tea or coffee and cake to family and friends who were visiting residents through Fremington Manor’s COVID-19 safe procedure, and it proved a success given the circumstances.
