Queensmead proud to retain CQC ‘Good’ rating
Queensmead has retained its good rating in all areas of its most recent CQC (Care Quality Commission) inspection in December 2018.
Queensmead’s CQC report highlighted a strong bond between residents and all of the staff who look after them, from Nurses and Carers to Home Managers and Activities Leads. It was noted that Home Manager, Tracey Walker and her team had a deep understanding and empathy for each of the home’s residents.
Simon Bird, Care South Chief Executive, said: “This is just reward for the team at Queensmead in Christchurch, and reflected well on our Home Manager, Tracey Walker and her whole team who live our HEART values in everything they do.”
Throughout the two day inspection, staff were observed to be extremely knowledgeable about each resident, including their care needs, interests and histories. Residents spoke fondly of the caring nature of the team and the friendly, relaxed and homely environment in which they lived. Relatives of those living in the home also commented how welcome they felt every time they visited.
Last year, Queensmead retained its Platinum status from the National Gold Standards Framework (GSF) Centre, the UK’s largest provider of training in end of life care. It is one of just 62 homes across England to have retained the prestigious award, which recognised the ongoing commitment of the staff at Queensmead in delivering exceptional care for its residents.
