Residents already getting in the Christmas spirit

24th October 2019

You would think Christmas is coming early at Care South as residents have already been getting involved in festive activities.

Two of the Dorset-based care homes – Dorset House and St Ives House – took residents to their local garden centre, while other residents have been getting busy in the kitchen.

At Beauchamp House in Somerset, residents have been mixing Christmas pudding ready for the festive season, while Kenwith Castle residents in North Devon have been baking Christmas cake. Kenwith Castle has been busy making festive preparations ahead of its Christmas Craft Fayre on 16th November. There will be a number of different crafts available, including handmade cards, carved wood and jewellery.

Care South’s homes will be holding a number of Christmas events in the lead-up to the festive period. Queensmead care home in Christchurch is hosting a coffee morning with a festive twist on 28th October. During the coffee morning, Sassy Gifts will have a stall selling Christmas presents for those looking to get their shopping done early.

Nearby Wickmeads care home will host its Christmas fete on 30th November. Sussexdown will also be holding a Christmas Fayre on 7th December, with a range of stalls. All proceeds will go towards the Residents’ Amenity Fund.
