St Ives House welcome ‘Hawks in the Forest’

4th October 2018

St. Ives House recently enjoyed a visit from ‘Hawks in the Forest’ who brought a colourful selection of birds of prey to the home.

Residents alongside their family and friends were able to have a close up encounter with the amazing birds, including Ed the Tawny Owl, Chicco the Barn Owl, and Elvis the Eagle Owl.

Each owl was brought into the room individually giving everyone the chance to stroke and a hold the owls whilst the falconry trainer talked about the birds and answered any questions staff and residents had.

Laura Reynolds, Activities Co-ordinator at St Ives House said; “It was great to welcome such interesting feathered friends at the home, everyone was in awe of the owls, in particular Elvis – who has the biggest most beautiful orange eyes. We look forward to inviting the beautiful birds back again very soon!”
