St Ives House welcomes Ringwood U3A community group
St Ives House has agreed to allow a community group to use the care home as a base for meetings as it continues to forge links in the community.
Members of the Ringwood U3A now use communal spaces at the care home, which is run by Care South and based in Ashley Heath, allowing residents to get involved too.
The U3A (The University of the Third Age) is a network of local clubs that helps retired members of the community share their knowledge and skills in a fun and friendly way.
The Ringwood U3A now holds two events at St Ives House: a ‘Singing for Fun’ club and the Whist card game club.
Sarah Lambert, Activities Assistant at St Ives House, said: “It’s great to see members of the community coming to St Ives House and engaging with residents. We see ourselves as a hub in the community and have links with a number of other groups too.
“We look forward to these events, as do our residents, and we hope these links with the local community will continue to grow.”
St Ives House in Horton Road is one Care South’s newest care homes, opening in early 2017. It is set in stunning scenery and provides relaxing and luxurious home on the edge of the New Forest National Park. Last year, inspectors from the care watchdog, the Care Quality Commission (CQC), rated the home as ‘Good’ in all areas.
