Staff create special days for residents’ birthdays

It’s been a busy few weeks for birthdays across Care South’s care homes in Dorset, Devon, Somerset and West Sussex, but staff have been working hard to make them all special days for our residents.

Chefs donned their aprons to bake and decorate some extraordinary birthday cakes, while special arrangements were made to ensure family members could be involved in the celebrations.

At Fremington Manor care home in Barnstaple, there was a party and prosecco for Pam, while June – a resident at Wickmeads care home in Bournemouth- had here family beamed into the lounge via Zoom. They were scattered around the globe, dialling in from as far afield as Singapore and Canada, but wanted to be with her for her 90th birthday.

At St Ives House care home, near Ringwood, a four-legged friend proved to be the icing on the birthday cake for resident Ruth. She marked her 93rd birthday with her family and beloved dog, Dudley, who was just as delighted see Ruth again.
