Summer smells at Dorset House help blow away wintery weather

Published: 9th October 2020

With the weather taking on a more wintery tone recently, Dorset House held a sensory afternoon to help bring a bit of sunshine to the Hamworthy care home.

Staff put together a range of fruity teas, garden herbs and other familiar scents such as freshly cut grass and roses, a throwback to the warm and sunny summer that we have enjoyed this year.

Research has suggested strong links between smells and memories, with familiar scents helping to stimulate reminiscence of fond recollections.
