Talbot View welcomes alpacas for care home tour
They’re not what you would usually expect to see walking the corridors of a care home, but Talbot View this week welcomed two alpacas.
Residents, staff and relatives were delighted to meet Hickory and Guinness, who were accompanied by owner Wendy.
The pair spent time with the relatives, whose faces lit up when they got to interact with the alpacas.
Wendy was on hand to answer questions about the animals, such as how long are Alpacas pregnant for? The answer is between 10-13 months.
Care South’s residential homes regularly welcome animals in to interact with the residents. Research has shown the positive effects this kind of interaction can have on elderly people, and people living with dementia.
