Delighted residents at Talbot View care home in Bournemouth have been meeting up with their loved ones as lockdown restrictions have begun to ease.
Since the lockdown was introduced to protect residents from the risks of COVID-19, all but essential visits have been halted. Instead, staff have gone above and beyond to accommodate video calls, visits through windows and other methods of keeping in touch with family and friends.
The care homes across the south have installed specially created shelters in the grounds where residents and loved ones can spend time together face to face. Infection control measure are still in place to avoid COVID-19 being brought into the care homes.
Introduced in early July, these have proved very popular with our residents and their relatives, and other methods of keeping in touch are being maintained for those who cannot visit.
