Wessex Trust brings back fantastic sporting memories at Queensmead
During a sport-themed memory box session with The Wessex Trust, Queensmead residents were delighted to recall their sporting days, with one resident, Ted entertaining everyone with his tales. Ted talked about how he scored three goals during a football match whilst his wife was in labour, with his new daughter and goal scoring success giving him two reasons to celebrate that day. He was also delighted to remember his golfing days where he scored a hole in one only once during his life, and how it had cost him a round of drinks at the bar!
In addition to Ted’s tales, residents talked about fond memories of playing cricket, horse racing and boxing, with another resident remembering riding the London to Brighton cycle ride and how much training they put in beforehand. Ice skating and skiing were also covered with many remembering trying to skate but without much success!
All in all, it was a wonderful session with the memory box and the residents loved discussing their favourites sports and reliving their memories of days gone by, as well as listening to Ted’s wonderful memories.
