Wickmeads care home hosts special Eurovision set in garden
There was not a ‘Nul Points’ in sight as Wickmeads welcomed local singer ‘Jem’ for a Eurovision set in the care home’s garden.
He performed songs from some of Britain’s more successful entrants, including Sandy Shaw, Lulu, Cliff Richard and Brotherhood of Man.
Jem had to perform for residents through the window of the care home, near Christchurch, to ensure everyone was COVID-19 safe.
Residents sang along and enjoyed a glass of wine and cake with the show, before Jem spoke to them through the window. With a tear in his eye, he even had a reunion with his parents, who are residents at the care home and were sat in the front row.
He finished the special performance by dedicating ‘Wind Beneath Your Wings’ to the amazing Wickmeads staff, who he thanked for looking after his parents and keeping them safe.
