World Book Day: Harry Potter and the visit to Buxton House care home

Published: 4th March 2021

Buxton House care home in Weymouth turned into a (Alice in) wonderland of fictional characters to mark World Book Day 2021.

Unfortunately, the lockdown put a stop to the usual celebrations, where we would usually see the incredible costumes put together by local schoolchildren.

However, we weren’t going to let the day go to waste, with residents and staff donning their own fancy dress.

There were appearances from Wally (from the Where’s Wally books), the crew of Treasure Island’s Hispaniola, and our very own Mad Hatter’s Tea Party from Alice in Wonderland.

Acting Home Manager Chris also cast an illusion spell over the care home with his Harry Potter costume.
