Residents from Buxton House recently enjoyed a wonderful day out filled with friendship, laughter and fond memories during a special visit to The Seven Stars.

The outing was organised for residents Geoff, Dave, Peter and John, who were delighted to spend time together enjoying a traditional pub lunch and a refreshing pint in the warm and familiar surroundings of a classic local pub.

For many older people, visits such as these can bring back treasured memories of meeting friends, sharing stories and enjoying everyday moments that have always been important parts of life. The trip offered the gentlemen a chance to relax, reminisce and enjoy each other’s company in a setting that felt both comforting and nostalgic.

Over hearty food and drinks, the group enjoyed a proper catch-up, sharing conversation and laughter throughout the afternoon. These social occasions can play an important role in supporting wellbeing, helping residents maintain connections, confidence and a sense of independence.

The team at Buxton House understands how meaningful personalised outings can be. Taking time to learn about each resident’s interests, life experiences and favourite places helps create opportunities that are not only enjoyable, but deeply valuable too.

A member of the team at Buxton House said:

“It was a brilliant day for Geoff, Dave, Peter and John. They thoroughly enjoyed getting out together for a pub lunch and spending quality time catching up over good food and drink. Seeing the smiles on their faces made the trip very special.”

As part of Care South, Buxton House is committed to creating meaningful experiences that support wellbeing, independence and joy. Whether enjoying activities within the home or venturing out into the local community, residents are encouraged to continue doing the things that matter most to them.

The team looks forward to planning many more memorable outings in the months ahead.
