Sensory Fun and Smiles: The Squidge & Pop Bubble Show at Wickmeads
The Avon Lounge at Wickmeads was recently transformed into a magical world of bubbles as residents, families, and team members gathered for a truly unique and interactive experience – the Squidge & Pop Bubble Show, hosted by the wonderfully talented Lisa.
From the very first bubble, the room was filled with awe and excitement. Lisa wowed everyone with her incredible bubble skills, creating shapes and sizes that had both young and old captivated. With a background in performing this show around the world, it was a real privilege for everyone at Wickmeads to welcome her and be part of something so special.
The afternoon was made even more memorable as one of the residents, Ivan, celebrated his birthday with his family in attendance. Ivan’s granddaughter and great-grandson got fully involved, with the great-grandson even having the once-in-a-lifetime experience of being placed inside a giant bubble!
Not to be left out, Hudson, the Activities Lead, found himself nominated by residents to take part and was also encased in a giant bubble, much to everyone’s amusement.
The sensory nature of the show allowed residents to touch and interact with the bubbles, enjoying the slimy, squidgy textures and the tactile fun that added to the joy of the experience.
There was also a musical element to the afternoon, with Eileen leading a spirited sing-along to “I’m Forever Blowing Bubbles”, bringing smiles and laughter all around.
As the show came to a close, the Avon Lounge was filled with cheering, applause, and heartfelt thanks for Lisa, whose energy and creativity made for an unforgettable afternoon.
