This morning St Ives care home welcomed a visit from local Mother and Baby group Tiny Talk.  Tiny Talk classes encourage communication through verbal and through signing means.  The classes help develop a child’s communication skills whilst having a brilliant time together with Mum.

The meetings help babies with speech development, confidence and social skills. Activities include songs, stories and puppets which children love. As they grow they learn concepts such as counting and colours plus a wider range of BSL signs.

Residents really look forward to these regular visits, as they enjoy watching the children play. They also learn new skills with many residents also learning the actions to sign with other residents

Home Manager Emma said “We are looking forward to welcoming back Tiny Talk to St Ives House very soon.”
