A Day Out at Poole Quay

On Thursday 14 August, a group of Elizabeth House residents enjoyed a wonderful day out at Poole Quay. Tony, Fran, Jean and Peter T. made the most of the glorious sunshine, tucking into traditional fish and chips and fresh scampi while overlooking the harbour.

Fran reminisced about visiting Poole Quay in years gone by with her family, sharing how much the area had changed since those evening walks. Meanwhile, Peter, Tony and Jean raised a glass together, enjoying the relaxed atmosphere and the beautiful views across the water.

Celebrating Tony’s Birthday

The following day brought another reason to smile as the Elizabeth House team hosted a special summer garden party to celebrate Tony’s birthday. The garden was filled with laughter and fun as residents took part in a variety of games.

Mirela introduced a brand-new game called Granny Pants, which saw everyone trying to throw balls into a pair of extra-large novelty pants. Peter C., Viv, Norma and Yvonne joined in and agreed it was one of the funniest activities they had ever tried.

Tony’s chosen game was Toss the Ring on the Cactus, and the excitement continued with a Pin the Nose competition, where Peter C. proudly claimed the winner’s title.

A Heartfelt Celebration

No birthday would be complete without a cake, and Chef Louria delighted everyone by baking a delicious homemade creation. Gathered together in the sunshine, residents and staff sang Happy Birthday to Tony, who could not stop smiling throughout the afternoon.

Tony shared how grateful he felt for the celebrations and the company of friends around him, making the day truly special.
