What’s in a Pumpkin? Plenty at Sussexdown care home
Gary, the gardener at Sussexdown care home, has been working with the residents who are keen gardeners, to grow and feed pumpkin plants this summer. It has been fascinating to watch them grow.
Once harvested the Art Group created a display for still life drawing classes. Pumpkins are a very satisfying shape and colour to draw. The classes were a great success.
On Friday the residents will be invited to Guess the Weight of the Pumpkin. Which will be a fun competition with a great prize.
And finally the chef is planning some great recipes for the huge pumpkin – pumpkin soup, pumpkin bread and pumpkin pie!
What a great way to celebrate and enjoy the life of a pumpkin!
