Talbot View Residents Enjoy an Afternoon of Music with Jewel Harmonies
Residents at Talbot View enjoyed a wonderful day filled with gardening, music, dancing and happy memories.
The day began with a morning spent in the garden, giving residents the chance to enjoy the fresh air, tend to plants and take part in a relaxing activity together. Gardening is always popular at Talbot View, offering gentle exercise, sensory stimulation and plenty of opportunities for conversation.
In the afternoon, residents welcomed the much-loved Jewel Harmonies for a lively musical performance. The group entertained everyone with a selection of familiar songs, including favourites such as “Que Sera, Sera” and “Love Letters from the Heart”.
The music quickly had residents singing and dancing along. Hazel knew every word and sang each song with a huge smile on her face, clearly enjoying every moment of the performance.
Resident Gill was especially captivated by the performers’ beautiful handmade dresses, admiring the care and creativity that had gone into each outfit.
The afternoon created a warm and joyful atmosphere, bringing residents together through familiar music and shared memories. Music can be a powerful way to encourage conversation, lift mood and help people reconnect with songs and experiences from throughout their lives.
Dawn Hand, Home Manager for Talbot View said:
“It was such a lovely afternoon. Our residents thoroughly enjoyed singing and dancing along with Jewel Harmonies, and it was wonderful to see so many smiles around the room. Hazel sang every song word for word, while Gill was fascinated by the beautiful handmade dresses. We are already looking forward to welcoming Jewel Harmonies back for our Summer Fayre.”
Residents and colleagues are delighted that Jewel Harmonies will return to Talbot View for the home’s Summer Fayre on 11 August, where they will once again help fill the home with music, laughter and friendship.
