Winton Pre-School visited residents at Talbot View on Shrove Tuesday
On March 4th, Shrove Tuesday, Winton Pre-School visited the residents at Talbot View care home. Chef Adam prepared pancakes, which were then decorated and enjoyed by both the residents and children. The group discussed unusual pancake toppings, and the children’s curiosity was sparked by resident Gloria’s therapy cat, whom they helped to name ‘Sally’. It was heart-warming to witness the connection between the residents and the young children. The residents have been talking about it non-stop ever since!
After enjoying their pancakes, the residents and children gathered in the lounge for “pancake parachute games,” during which they shook the parachute and waved to their friends on the other side. Before bidding farewell, the pre-schoolers sang some of their favourite songs to the residents, using sign-along techniques that the residents eagerly copied.
