Tea, Tunes and Tides – A Memorable Day Out for Dorset House Residents
Residents from Dorset House recently enjoyed a joyful and refreshing day out, filled with good company, music and a touch of adventure, as they headed out on a minibus outing to the local tea dance at the Labour Club — with a scenic detour to Tides Wellness Club along the way.
A Warm Welcome at Tides
The trip began with a stop at Tides Wellness Club, where the group were greeted with open arms and treated to complimentary hot drinks and friendly conversation. The relaxed atmosphere was perfect for a mid-morning break, and residents enjoyed chatting with the welcoming team at the club.
Curious as ever, several residents were keen to explore the wellness facilities. The ice baths drew particular interest — and more than a few laughs — as residents bravely dipped their hands in to test the chill! It was a fun and light-hearted experience that sparked conversation and giggles all round.
Dancing, Dining and Reconnecting
After leaving Tides, it was time to head to the Labour Club for the main event — the tea dance. A tasty buffet lunch and refreshing drinks were waiting on arrival, giving everyone time to relax before the music started.
Soon the room was alive with the sounds of classic dance tunes, and feet were tapping in time. A few residents even made it onto the dance floor, showing off their moves and soaking up the joyful atmosphere.
To round off the afternoon, everyone joined in a lively game of bingo, which added an extra dose of excitement and friendly competition.
A Day of Friendship and Fun
One of the most heartwarming parts of the outing was the chance for residents to reunite with old friends — familiar faces from previous visits to the tea dance. For many, it was a lovely reminder of happy times and shared connections.
Days like these are all about more than just getting out and about — they’re about laughter, memories, community and joy.
