Walking for a Cure: St Ives House Supports Alzheimer’s Research
On Sunday 22 June, three of our dedicated team members from St Ives House – Emma, Natalie and Lisa – laced up their trainers and joined hundreds of others at Poole Park for a special 5km walk in support of Alzheimer’s research.
The route took participants on a scenic trail from Poole Park, along Baiter Park, and back to the finish line – all under beautiful skies and with a shared spirit of unity and purpose.
Walking for Hope and a Cure
The walk carried a powerful message:
“Together, we’re walking for a cure, walking for hope, and walking for a world where dementia can no longer destroy lives.”
The atmosphere on the day was truly uplifting. People came together from all walks of life, each with their own connection to dementia – those currently living with the condition, loved ones walking in memory, and carers and supporters determined to make a difference. It was an emotional and inspiring sight to see so many hearts aligned for such a vital cause.

We’re incredibly proud to share that St Ives House has raised £480 so far, thanks to the generosity and support of our residents’ families, friends and local community. Every donation brings us one step closer to better understanding, treatment, and ultimately a cure for dementia.
