National Biscuit Day at Wickmeads
For National Biscuit Day, the residents at Wickmeads care home enjoyed reminiscing about biscuits from the past. There was a selection of retro biscuits which are still available today, these sparked memories of when they used to eat them growing up and then giving them to their children. Mike our Chef made a selection of shortbread and Welsh Cakes which the residents said were better than the shop bought ones.
Resident Joan provided a selection of Gluten Free options and talked about them and told how much she enjoys them and said they were a good alternative from the ones that the others are able to eat. The residents then enjoyed watching TV Adverts from the past and even sang along to some of the jingles.
Then it was time for a Biscuit Quiz. This brought out their competitive side with many of them shouting out the answers. June likes to do wordsearches each day so was thrilled to see that there was one she could do on the biscuit theme.
The residents all enjoyed celebrating National Biscuit Day and said they will think of other special days that we can celebrate in this way.
