Yeehaw! Cowboy Day at Buxton House Brings Laughter and Fun
It was all smiles and laughter at Buxton House as residents and staff enjoyed a fun-filled Cowboy Day celebration. The home was transformed into a lively Western scene, complete with cowboy hats, boots, and plenty of country charm.
The day began with staff from the activities team dressing up as cowboys and cowgirls, ready to entertain the residents with a mix of country and western music. The sound of guitars and cheerful singing filled the home as everyone joined in with familiar tunes, clapping along and tapping their feet to the rhythm.
Adding to the atmosphere, the team even performed some line dancing, much to the delight of the residents, who enjoyed watching (and in some cases, joining in) as the moves got faster and the laughter grew louder.

At lunchtime, the Western theme continued with a delicious pulled pork and beans meal, giving residents a real taste of cowboy-style dining. The hearty dish was a hit and perfectly complemented the fun of the day.

The highlight of the afternoon came when Michele and Jin made a surprise appearance galloping through the home in blow-up horse and bull costumes! Their hilarious performance had everyone in stitches and proved to be the perfect finale to a day packed with joy and energy.
Residents were full of praise for the day, saying how much fun they had and how wonderful it was to laugh, sing, and celebrate together. One resident summed it up perfectly, saying, “It was such a good day – full of laughter and happiness.”
It was truly a rootin’-tootin’ success, filled with music, fun, and friendship – a perfect example of the spirit we celebrate every day at Buxton House.
