Residents at Fern Brook Lodge enjoyed another lively afternoon of music, movement and laughter during one of the home’s popular Zumba sessions.

Caroline from RiversMeet Leisure Centre visits the Care South home in Gillingham every fortnight to lead the sessions, which have become a firm favourite with residents.

Plenty of smiles and impressive dance moves

With upbeat music playing, residents joined in with a range of Zumba-inspired movements, with plenty of smiles, laughter and even a few impressive dance moves along the way.

The sessions are designed so that residents can take part at a level that suits them, including while seated in a chair.

This means everyone has the opportunity to get involved, enjoy the music and keep moving in a fun and supportive way.

Keeping active while having fun

Zumba is a great way to encourage gentle movement and help residents stay active, while also creating an enjoyable social experience.

The combination of music and movement helps to bring people together, with residents able to exercise, laugh and enjoy one another’s company at the same time.

Most importantly, the sessions are all about having fun and creating positive moments for residents.

Food, Fun and Friendship at Fern Brook Lodge

Activities at Fern Brook Lodge are designed around residents’ interests and wellbeing, with a varied programme including exercise, music, creative activities and community visits.

Regular sessions such as Zumba provide a great opportunity for residents to stay active, build confidence and enjoy time together.

It is another example of Care South’s ethos of Food, Fun and Friendship in action.
