All homes rated Good by CQC
We are regulated by the independent Care Quality Commission (CQC) whose role as an independent regulator is to register health and adult social care service providers in England and to check, through inspection and ongoing monitoring, that standards are being met.
This essential national regulator offers a helpful, reassuring snapshot of each specific registered service. At Care South however, our commitment to providing the best possible care 24/7 365 days a year goes further.
Ongoing, accountable, internal audits
The Board and Executive team work closely together to create a safe and caring environment for staff, residents and Care at Home clients alike whilst adhering to the highest of standards.
To ensure these standards are not only met, but exceeded, Care South homes benefit from experienced regional operations teams who are supported by multiple central functions, such as property managers, catering managers, dementia and clinical specialists. There is also a dedicated a care quality team, completing full internal audits (similar to that of a CQC report) at every home on a quarterly basis.
The combination of these internal assessments alongside external assessments can provide reassurance to residents and families that they are receiving the most up to date and best possible care.
Recognised as a Top 20 Care Home provider
This accolade is important to us as it is based on reviews from residents in our care, their families and friends. It is testament to all our care home teams who go above and beyond to ensure our homes are welcoming places where residents feel cared for, respected and supported as individuals.
All reviews are independently verified by a third party so you can feel reassured that what you read is a true reflection of our care and support.

July was certainly one to remember at Elizabeth House! 💙
As we welcomed a new month, residents and team members came together to look back at all the wonderful memories we made throughout July.
From celebrating Yvonne's birthday with a Fourth of July-themed barbecue, live music from Jewels Harmony and plenty of fun and laughter, to steering the Friends of Dolphins boat around Poole Harbour, there were so many special moments to reflect on.
Residents also enjoyed chair drumming, Wimbledon celebrations with cream tea and Pimm's, a fantastic performance from Sasha and Wendy at The Green Room, visits to Muddy Boots Nursery and The Café at Trinity Village, arts and crafts, and relaxing picnics in the park.
Looking back through the photos brought lots of smiles, stories and happy memories. As Peter C summed it up perfectly: "July was busy, but it was so much fun. I'm looking forward to seeing what great events we organise next."
Here's to another month of friendship, laughter and making more wonderful memories together. 💙

🍨💙 A sweet trip down memory lane at Castle Dene! 💙🍨
Sometimes, the simplest wishes create the most meaningful moments.
While looking through some old photographs together, Betty spotted a picture of herself enjoying a Knickerbocker Glory. With a smile, she said she would love to make one again.
Our team was delighted to make that wish come true! We set the table with traditional sundae glasses, long spoons, ice cream, fresh fruit, strawberry sauce, whipped cream, chocolate flakes and wafers, ready for Betty to create her perfect dessert.
Betty carefully layered each ingredient, adding just a little fruit before joking, "I don't want to make it too healthy!" 😄
The best part, of course, was sitting down to enjoy every delicious spoonful together. 🍓🍦
At Castle Dene, it's the personal moments that matter most. Whether it's recreating a favourite dessert, sharing treasured memories or making a simple wish come true, we're proud to create experiences that bring joy and celebrate each resident's unique life story.

☀️🏖️ Bringing the beach to Castle Dene for Sandcastle Day!🏖️☀️
Although we couldn't make it to the seaside for Sandcastle Day, we made sure the seaside came to us!
To celebrate Sandcastle Day, our residents got creative by making their own sandcastle pictures using a variety of textured sandpaper and beautifully coloured shells. The different textures added a sensory element to the activity, making it both fun and engaging.
The crafting also sparked lots of wonderful conversations, with residents sharing treasured memories of family holidays, sunny days on the beach and visits to beautiful coastlines both here in the UK and around the world. 🌊🐚
It was heartwarming to see so many smiles as everyone reminisced about building sandcastles, paddling in the sea and enjoying precious moments with loved ones.
At Castle Dene, it's often the simplest activities that create the biggest smiles, bringing people together through creativity, conversation and shared memories. 💙

🎳 Back on the bowling green after 10 years!
There were smiles all round as residents from St Ives House enjoyed a fantastic day at Bournemouth Bowling Club, with one very special moment making the day even more memorable.
Resident Ken returned to the bowling green for the first time in over 10 years, rekindling a hobby he loved during his time as a member of Braeside Bowling Club in Ringwood. 💙
Joined by fellow residents from St Ives House, Alexandra House and Wickmeads, everyone had the opportunity to have a go, with the wonderful team at Bournemouth Bowling Club offering encouragement, coaching and plenty of friendly support throughout the day. The club's adapted 'Bowls Royce' wheelchairs also ensured even more residents could take part.
As Ken said:
"It was marvellous. I haven't played in about 10 years, so it was very good. The weather and the people were also good."
A huge thank you to everyone at Bournemouth Bowling Club for such a warm welcome. Days like these are a wonderful reminder that it's never too late to revisit a favourite pastime, try something new and enjoy making memories together in the sunshine. ☀️🎳

🫏💙 There were plenty of smiles at Kenwith Castle as we welcomed two very special visitors!
Residents were delighted to spend time with two friendly donkeys from Highford Donkeys in Clovelly, who visited both the communal areas and residents in their bedrooms for a wonderful afternoon of animal therapy.
The visit sparked happy memories and conversations, with many residents reminiscing about growing up on farms, caring for donkeys and horses, and life in the countryside.
It was an especially emotional moment for resident Sharon, who used to own donkeys herself. Seeing the gentle pair brought back many treasured memories, and she was overjoyed to welcome them into her room.
Home Manager Jo Passmore said:
"Our residents absolutely loved meeting the donkeys who were happy to stand for as long as the residents wanted while they gave them a fuss. It was so lovely to see the smiles on the residents' faces as they shared memories of animals they had cared for over the years and enjoyed the comfort of spending time with such gentle companions. Experiences like this are so valuable because they bring people together, reduce feelings of loneliness and create moments of genuine happiness."
A huge thank you to Bart and Sue from Highford Donkeys for bringing so much joy to everyone at Kenwith Castle. We can't wait to welcome you back! 💙
