🍅 A bumper harvest at Talbot View!
Our green-fingered gardening club members have been busy harvesting more than 100 ripe cherry tomatoes from the garden, as well as giving our winter flowers a good watering. 🌱🌼
After sorting and washing the tomatoes, residents wrapped the nearly-ripe ones in paper to continue ripening indoors before sitting down together for a well-earned cup of tea. ☕
Chef Lee then joined us with cheese, crackers and a little salt for a special tasting session. The home-grown tomatoes were incredibly sweet and juicy, with residents describing how they ‘popped’ in their mouths.
From garden to table, it was a lovely afternoon of Food, Fun and Friendship. 💙

🎨 Residents at Kenwith Castle have been showcasing their creative talents as part of a wonderful community art project!
Working with Sandra from Creative Mojo, residents came together to create a beautiful painting inspired by Kenwith Castle and its picturesque grounds, including our much-loved lake. 💚
Everyone was encouraged to contribute their own ideas and creativity, whether they were experienced artists or picking up a paintbrush for the first time.
The finished artwork is now part of a wider exhibition at South Molton Assembly Rooms, celebrating artwork created by care home residents from across North Devon and highlighting the many benefits that creative activities can bring, including for people living with dementia.
Home Manager Jo Passmore said it was wonderful to see residents working together to create something inspired by their home, with everyone making an equal contribution to the finished piece.
And there’s more to look forward to at Kenwith Castle! ☀️ Our Summer Fayre takes place this **Saturday 22 August, from 2pm to 4pm**, with donkey rides, a barbecue, ice cream van and garden games. It’s free to attend and everyone from the local community is welcome!
