Residents from Care South’s Maiden Castle House in Dorchester recently enjoyed a wonderful autumn outing with Cycling Without Age, travelling through the local countryside to Max Gate, the former home of Thomas Hardy.

John and Mary took part in the trip on Thursday 1 October, making the most of a beautiful October day and quiet country roads as they enjoyed the journey together.

A special way to explore the local area

Cycling Without Age once again gave residents the opportunity to experience the sights and sounds of the local area from a different perspective.

As John and Mary travelled towards Max Gate, both were full of smiles and laughter, enjoying the gentle journey and the chance to take in their surroundings.

The pleasant weather helped make the outing even more memorable, creating the perfect conditions for spending time outdoors and enjoying the journey through Dorchester.

A memorable visit to Max Gate

The destination for the trip was Max Gate, Thomas Hardy’s house in Dorchester.

For John and Mary, the outing combined fresh air, local history and companionship, while also providing a lovely change of scenery from the home.

John said: “I can’t believe what a wonderful time I had. I hope I can do it again.”
