Residential and care at home provider and registered charity, Care South, has donated £1,000 to Christchurch Community Partnership.

The good cause aims to alleviate social isolation and loneliness among older residents living in Christchurch through a range of services, including lunch clubs, seated exercise clubs, and coffee meet-ups. The partnership also has two accessible minibuses and runs a ‘Neighbour Car’ scheme, as well as a ‘Hardship Fund’ to ensure that nobody misses out on the support available.

Clients from Care South at Home’s Bournemouth office, which operates across Bournemouth and Christchurch, have previously attended events organised by Christchurch Community Partnership. It is the latest beneficiary of Care South’s Community Fund, operated by the not-for-profit care provider, which gives back to community groups, services and organisations which directly benefit Care South’s care home residents, care at home clients, or staff.

Rev Sandra Prudom, CEO of Christchurch Community Partnership, said: “We are delighted to receive this generous donation from Care South which will help us to reach out to more people across Christchurch who could benefit from our services. It will help us continue providing opportunities for older residents to socialise, make connections and enjoy time with others.”

Care South’s Community Fund donation was delivered to the team and some of the clients who are part of Christchurch Community Partnership at one of their popular weekly lunch clubs. This was presented by Martin Ross, Director of Care South at Home, and Tracie Gregory, Manager of Care South at Home’s Bournemouth office.

Martin Ross, Director of Care South at Home, said: “It is a pleasure to support a cause which does such great work in the local community to help people who would otherwise be at risk of loneliness and isolation. At Care South, our ethos is all about Food, Fun and Friendship and the services that Christchurch Community Partnership perfectly exemplify this. It is a pleasure to support an organisation that makes such a positive difference to older people in the local community.”
